2006-2011 Chevrolet Impala review from Consumer Reports | Consumer Reports

The Chevrolet Impala is behind the times. The outdated V6 is slower than some four-cylinders. Although the Impala is big on the outside, it has a tight back seat. At least the trunk is roomy. Learn more about the Impala on our website: http://bit.ly/11eS5fW

  1. 06' LS 3.5L with 183k miles and only thing it needed replaced was front wheel bearings 3k miles ago. It gets the job done.

  2. I don't know why I hear so many people complain about not having "P, R, N, D ect" on the shift lever. Do you seriously look at your gear shifter every time you shift? It looks much cleaner and unless you have a handicap you should have no problem the way they designed it.

  3. I had a 2003 Chevy Impala LS 3.8 V6 4 speed auto I like it gave me no trouble put 115,000 miles and traded for a 2007 Chevy Impala LT 2 with a 3.9 V6 4 speed auto which I liked Just as much and traded with 110,000 miles on it. I now I have a 2014 Chevy Impala with the 3.6 and 6 Speed auto. I enjoyed all 3 of my Impalas thus far.

  4. I just picked up a 08 last weekend. I really like it. I feel like this dude just hates Chevy's or something.

  5. Mine is a 2006 LS 3.5L. I love it. It feels big, and it GOES if u step on it. I don't know what this guy's deal is. I like my Impala.

  6. hes full of bs i owm an 08 and its a smooth ride and ive had no issues this guy must be a honda or toyota owner

  7. I hate this vehicle it's strange that inside the Manual and under the fuse cover it does not show where to change or which fuse to use to change the cigarette fuse.. That was a huge headache when I had this vehicle. I had to bring it to the dealer just to get charged $90 smh

  8. My 07 impala is decent…It could be better…Yes it's a slightly laggy engine but it gives me enough horsepower to merge on the highway…It seems like they put more on the exterior than interior because the interior build quality is beyond poorly design…I have the column shifter LT…Seats 3 in front and 3 in the back. Ample trunk room…I have subs and suitcases and other shit fits back there no problem.

  9. i have a 2011 Impala LTZ with the 3.9 V6 and i absolutely love it. i only agree with like 3 things this man said

  10. I just got a 2008 Impala two days ago.
And this guy is full of it.

Now only does the car take turns smoothly and the ride is quite comfortable .

I use to have a 2012 Jetta and that car absolutely sucked.
    plastic feel.
    crappy brakes.
    crappy steering (very sticky )
    it's a college car.

the 2008 Impala is really a brilliant car and for the price I got it at 7,000 (65,000 miles on it)

    it beautiful.
if anyone is looking for a luxury, bargain price, with hella amazing quality…get a 08 Impala LT.

    it's heaven

  11. This guy blows, my impala gets 30mpg going 75, it's very comfortable and it's quiet. This guy is a bunch of bull. The only thing I agree is the back seat but that's it!

  12. People who are defending this car really need to compare it to the competition and get over it.

  13. I sold my 2003 with 247,000. the motor was great but the trainy was giving up the ghost and you could see through the doors

  14. this review is awful but after 3 years of owning an unreliable heap from 2009 to 2012 I can say I like my Crown Victoria much better even though it doesn't get as good of fuel mileage.
The Ford has been MUCH more reliable. I got rid of the Chevy before 100k miles before the power train warranty expired. Too many problems, I couldn't afford to fix it once warranty was out so I let it go and I bought a 4 year old Crown Victoria. The Crown Victoria is now up to 530,000 miles factory engine, one replacement transmission, one alternator, 2 batteries, intake manifold, now it has broken exhaust manifold studs and needs catalytic converters.
(I am a self employed delivery driver and I own a lawn care business and do odd jobs)

  15. The Impala is one hell of a sleeper car. Looks are deceiving. If you're gonna review one of the most popular 4-door sedans and give it shit, you ought to be driving a Yugo or a Trabant… then again, you'd probably give it a 5 star review.

  16. A plastic piece of American Trash. I would buy a used Lexus before I bought a new Impala. Americans dont make anything of quality. I have worked in production all my life and the tolerances are super high. The car has so much mold flash it is a joke. The car is made to get you back and forth to the corporate plantation. There is no pride of ownership or quality. The only luxury feature it has is heated seats in the Lt or Ltz packages. I cant believe people buy these cars used when you can buy a infiniti or lexus which are far more reliable and high quality.

  17. STRONGLY considered buying a 2016 impala LTZ limited (same exact late 2000's cop car styling rather than the brand new ones from 2014)… Until I looked at so many other pre owned/used cars that offered INFINITELY more for the price; much less better fuel efficiency!
