The Macan is Porsche’s new compact crossover. It delivers performance and luxury that Porsches are famous for in addition to day-to-day practicality.

  1. Porsche's main customer is the older, rich male–and he wants a small, light, cramped, fast, two-seater. What self-respecting man would buy this "Porsche-with-a-pussy"?

  2. I love this SUV. I want to drive it. Starting at 50+ k and no normally aspirated version is a turn off. For 60+k you would thing Porsche could get at least 360 hp out of a N/A six.

  3. Another overpriced, unreliable, overhyped piece of German machinery.
But there will be takers who care about status and badge symbolism over long term reliability.
I guess everybody to their own !!!!!

  4. So, go buy an "SUV" for the added space and utility–except that the backseat is pretty unusable.  That makes sense.

  5. Tail lights almost look like from a Lincoln MKC, another brand new Crossover for 2015. Only thing that the MKC doesn't have is a V6 engine, since the engine layout is transverse for MKC and longitudinal for the Macan. Both are available with AWD.

  7. No point buying a SUV like this when it doesn't perform as well and minimal ground clearance for the winter conditions.

  8. What I find funny are the people that have overly negative comments.  For example the reply from Jay John. If you feel this way. Why did you even seek the review out? My overhyped piece German machinery Audi A4 looks brand new being that its a 2006. I follow the recommended maintenance. The only big repair was a timing kit.  The Cayenne saved Porsche and the Macan will continue it's success. Porsche will not stop making what makes them money.  I would encourage any nay sayer to go and test drive the Macan or the Cayenne. You will be more than surprised. Sure you can get an AMG GLA , Or perhaps a M5 ( used).  I think this review was pretty cut and drive and fair for a new car/suv on the market. I am sure they will have a long term report. I anticipate that there will be some issue. That because its a first run. I would suggest buying the diesel when it comes to the US.  It transmission will come directly from VW. They make one of the best.

  9. A Canadian car show discovered a very disturbing behaviour of the Macan during its evaluation. The acceleration, braking, handling and overtaking performance was as expected from Porsche. However when they went from 80 to 90 km/h braking and avoiding manoeuvre it all fell apart. The anti-rollover system kicked in (according to Porsche) and all 4 wheels locked. This was demonstrated repeatedly. For your reference, the show is RPM from Québec. Maybe you should look into this and give us an opinion? FYI, not all vehicles pass the 90 km/h test but usually it's because the stopping distance gets way too long. This was their first car/suv that just locked all 4 wheels and they lost steering control.
