  1. Ya! I'm glad to find someone else who likes pigeons, everyone always tells me they're just rats with wings…

  2. Owen Davey is just the best illustrator in the world, I'm from Chile and haaate that I can´t get his work here, the ultimate dream is to have Laika on my hands ahaha. If you get more books from him review them too!

  3. Read Nimona and loved it! I just picked up LumberJanes by the same author, it's supposed to be quite good.

  4. You should really check out The Arrival by Shaun Tan, it's a wordless graphic novel and it is just amazing. There's really a lot going on and it challenges you to understand the story without the words there to tell you it. I read it in a graphic novel class a few years back and was totally floored. Also just as far as regular graphic novels go Brian Lee O'Malley's (author of Scott Pilgrim) newest graphic novel Seconds is very good!

  5. I want to check out Nimona and Unwritten. Do you know the graphic novel Lions tigers and bears? I liked that a lot too.

  6. I read Nimona online and loved it so so much. It is clever, it is funny, and it is heartbreaking, all at the same time.

  7. Laika looks amazing, I love illustrations that are inspired by the russian avant-garde!

Definitely going to look for some of these, graphic novels are my go-to books during the school year 'cause my lit teacher gives so many books to read that it's nice to have a colorful break from them sometimes

  8. Speaking of pigeons and picture books, you should check out the pigeon series by Mo Willems, if you haven't already. : )

  9. "If you liked the fanfic bits of Fangirl, then this is definitely one to look out for." I agree with this statement wholeheartedly.

  10. I loved your picture book reviews! I'd recommend anything by Alison Bechdel (esp. Fun Home and Are You My Mother?) if you haven't read her before? Also I really like your lipstick in this video!! May I ask what it is?

  11. HI Sanne, any graphic novels where a woollen hat appears? I like to make hats and my first was from Shatter Me (in second book you can find it… my idea of the hat on my YT channel)… anyway, second hat will be elf's hat from Harry Potter (as someone was knitting something in the 5th book), but what next I would like to read something new and knit…. any suggestions? 🙂 Barbara

  12. You should read The Nao of Brown, it's an absolutely amazing graphic novel about a woman struggling with violent intrusive thoughts and OCD, and it's all done in gorgeous watercolours. Genuinely the best book I've read all year.

  13. I'm so in love of you channel! I really enjoy this video, have a nice day. Lots of love from Mexico City!

  14. Another great comic series that Noelle Stevenson worked on with a few other great female creators is Lumberjanes! It's about a group of girls having supernatural adventures at summer camp.

  15. I know this is super random I was just re-reading the Harry Potter series and I was thinking about Harry and Ginny's relationship, do you accept it? Do you wish he ended up with someone else? I would love to know 🙂

  16. Have you ever read "Who will comfort Toffle?" by Tove Jansson? It's a picture book for children, but I really enjoyed it as well 🙂 The story is quite simple but the illustrations are soo beautiful!

  17. I read the sadder version of Laika in 11th grade and it was in smaller size in comic/graphic novel form. It was very sad.
