A report by Amnesty International two years ago first uncovered that children were mining the mineral cobalt in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It ended up in products of dozens of companies including Apple, Microsoft, Tesla and Samsung. Debora Patta reports.

  1. why does China seem to use Africans for their ever growing greed for world super power status. Will they ever pay for over exploiting the African continent? They are quite rich these days but will justice be done for the Africans who continue to lose their resources for little or no return?

  2. We need more mofos down there white ppl Asian ppl and they kids. Worlds comin to a end. To late to be worried bout this

  3. This is sad that any cbild miss3s out on his chilldhood because of poverty . But we have to realize that if these kids wwee.made to stop work their families would just be tgat much poorer
They wluld not be eating 3 squares a day and going to school. This is reality in poor and developing 3rd world countries

  4. books for Africa is a charity that has sent over 40,000,000 books to Africa during the past 30 years (booksforafrica.org). They have a very high charity navigator rating. You could send a box of new or used books to help kids like those in this story or you could send a check to help with their shipping costs. Time to do more than just watch a video. Do your small part to help make this world a better place.

  5. What a bs story “third world African country doesn’t have enough money to be a nice place” wow shocker…

  6. Well it's not the mining and child labor that disturb me . It's the lack of investment by these so called black people in America . That has got to be a billion dollar industry and the black have in America can't seem to go over their and get with the state and buy a few dozen heavy duty machine's and invest in the motherland . But they can spend millions on foolishness in America. Them people are doing wat they have to do to survive period . We have great opportunities in the motherland but we complain wen great opportunities are waisted . Im not for child labor but it reminds me of when I was young we farmed to survive I was six years old but it made me a hard worker and values . No more talk where is the economic development among u people to make a change . Naw their is none because we as a people are selfish and don't believe in the common good and brotherhood among men in a continient that is super rich . Like always u swander opportunities and let foreigners come in and take the natural resources that the world need do a story on that miss Gale and Oprah

  7. EV batteries use at least 33lbs of cobalt so Tesla is B.S.ing here. It's not surprising none of these corporations will admit to getting cobalt from child labor. All they care about is profits.
