No, it has nothing to do with the original name for Mario, but it is an old-school arcade platform game! Covering the classic games Jumpman, Jumpman Junior, and Jumpman Lives!

  1. I love this game. It was one of the motivations for me to get a summer job when I was 14 so I could buy a disk drive for my Atari 800xl so I wouldn't have to wait so long for the game to load.

  2. Have you played "The Ultimate Wizard"?  It was the first game I bought for my C64 and it is basically Jumpman remade so he is a wizard, each level has a specific spell he can cast, it's the same animations (only he has a wizard hat on), even some levels are identical, but with a few extras.  They done a nice job on it, I like it much more than Jumpman and The Ultimate Wizard was the first game I ever played that had a level editor built in as well!  If you haven't seen it, find it and you will see what I mean.

  3. The last time I heard that theme–the EPYX theme–was when I played Winter Games, an EPYX classic!

  4. I remember we always called those circle things donuts, since they were always a glazed brown shade in the C64 version.

  5. This looks really fun. I'd love to check it out. Where can I find it without having to buy an ancient computer or system?

  6. I remember playing something like this on a disc called 1000+ games for windows or something. It was titled flynn.exe. Ive been looking for the full game ever since but no such luck. I did find a similar game called loderunner though but my pc gaming knowledge only amounts to a whole lot of doom 2 and some modern stuff.

  7. Very addictive game. The stones were your worst enemies.I still remember the game over sequence.

  8. Was this ever released to any of the home consoles that were around at the time? If not, then that would be a damn shame, as this game looks to be a lot of fun.

  9. Damn, I'd completely forgotten about this game. I remember at the time thinking of it as just a poor man's Lode Runner, but it's more than that. Good times, good vid.

  10. "Don´t die and don´t give up"
