  1. Absolutely loved this film. I understand what you meant about Hardy's accent though, it did seem a little off and I'm British myself. I don't think it was as perfect as people are making it out to be, but it was still superb.

  2. It was insane! As another reviewer I follow on IG described it, "It's more than a film. It's a moving work of art" Haha. Love that way of describing it. It looks amazing!

  3. Glad you enjoyed it I'm hopefully seeing it today, and putting up a review tomorrow! Great review as always!

  4. This is definitely the best film I've seen so far this year. I was so shocked considering I didn't adore the first Mad Max (but I still really liked it) and plus, I avoided every piece of marketing for Fury Road. Oh damn, you didn't love Tom Hardy, I understand that totally. But, I loved him in the movie, though Charlize definitely stole the show! I had an extremely fun time with this! It's like you said, it was a hell of a ride! You can check out my 9 minute review where me and my friend basically fanboy about this film! Hope you're doing well, take care! P.S. I'll be doing The Whisper Challenge within the next few weeks! Yay!

  5. Really great film, though for me The Road Warrior is the best of the franchise.

  6. To be fair no matter what actor they choose to play as Max he would of had a hard job filling Mel's shoes,  its like certain actors and actresses where born to play certain roles in movies, example – can you see any one else playing Adam Sandler in a Adam Sandler movie

  7. I saw this movie yesterday and I agree with most people that its the best movie of 2015 so far this year. Just the stunts, the cinematography and the practical effects used were just awesome and stunning. Also, the chase scenes and the explosions where cars flip and crash were really intense. Oh my goodness, I loved everything about this new Mad Max movie.

  8. While Max is again thrown into yet another conflict he doesn't want to be part of… He is pivotal in the resolution of Furiosa's story.

He basically says to her: (drawing from his own experience) "You cannot keep running from your past or your troubles, so go home and find the answers within you, make a difference where you can."

I thought that was powerful, and gave the whole last sequence a lot more weight, at least to me.

Great film. More exciting and fun than the Avengers. This is how blockbusters should be made.

  9. I know what u mean about Tom hardy's accent, toward the end he sounded more South African than aussie, but to be honest It didn't ruin it for me because I knew from the 20 minute mark that the dialogue would be pretty basic there out and just went along for the ride, really enjoyed it though 👍

  10. @Roll Credits you say tomato and I say tomato 😉 keep it up, always love your view of movies!

  11. I have only seen the first Mad Max (which i didn't like) before I saw Fury Road, and I absolutely loved this movie and especially its score

  12. Awesome review! For the people that had not seen it yet, get ready for wildest insane ride of your life. Saw it yesterday and it was what expected and much more. Fury road will grab you by your throat from the first minute to the very end. Is like strapping yourself in a brand new roller coaster you never knew about it and will last for two hours, lol 10 out 10 for me! Is fun, wild, action to the roof! Best of 2015👍The only complaint my girl had, that she was tense through the entire movie, lol when a movie does that, you know is amazing😃

  13. Ultimate feminist action movie? Gonna have to go some to beat Ripley in the Alien franchise!

The original trilogy has a definitively 80s feel to it but I'm really looking forward to this reboot.

  14. I know Max was Australian in the original but did it specify that he was Australian in this. I just didn't hear any Australian accent at all so I figured he was from somewhere else.

  15. I love the original two movies and I love Fury Road. I think Tom Hardy was perfectly cast, in my opinion he shows the struggle with his past and his madness even better than Mel Gibson.

  16. Watching this next week.  The Road Warrior is the only film from the original trilogy that I really liked.  Three things I remember from that movie.  The amazing action in the last 30 minutes.  Random 80s gratuitous nudity scene.  Mad Max's sidekick who had bad teeth ending up with the cute girl.

  17. Saw this last night and I think it's probably one of the best action films I've ever seen. Totally agree about the accent though, I was like oooh? Ok? :S Haha.
So glad I decided against 3D, I probably would of had a migraine by the end!

  18. I was disappointed.
Mad Max 1 and 2 had a realness, a believability about them. You could imagine yourself in Max's position, in a post apocalyptic world, scraping by, eating dogfood, in a beatup, but awesome car, scrounging for fuel in the wasteland.
Mad Max 4 jumped the shark. It became a caricature, a fantasy world. None of it seemed real. Not the cars, not the color,  not the plot, not most of the characters. I felt disconnected. I always felt like I was watching a fantasy movie, not part of a real apocalyptic world.
As far as I'm concerned, this was not a Max Max movie. They might as well have called it Furious Furiosa. Mad Max 1 with it's $500,000 budget was in many ways better than this $500M movie. I'm convinced that a believable post-apocalyptic film from Hollywood is impossible. Leave that genre to an independent.

  19. ……you didn't feel the danger……? That's a criticism reserved only for super hero films tbh.

  20. I loved it, but not as much as everyone else. My only real detractor was Hardy. I thought he brought the physicality and presence to the role very well. But his opening narration sounded completely different to his accent later on, very inconsistent, bothered me too.

  21. Great review! I saw the movie twice already and I loved it both times—it's so much fun to watch 🙂 I know what you mean about Tom Hardy's accent, it was a little strange… It almost seemed like he was going for a bit of an Eastern-European accent? I guess that makes sense with Max's last name, but it was definitely weird at times. I loved the tone of the movie though, and of course, the action was glorious 🙂

  22. Personally, I didn't mind Hardy's take on Max, since at no point in the movie do they say that this is happening in Australia or that this Max is an Aussie( Furiosa doesn't have a aussie accent also, no major character really, exept Nux, maybe and one of the girls)…i liked the fact that Max was monosyllabic due to his isolation and I don't think Tom was trying to sound australian, just mentally damaged…and as awesome as Mel Gibson was, i don't think he would've fit in the same situations as Hardy's..would've love to see him back, though…(excuse my english:P)

  23. Great review! I'll be seeing this movie howl fully this week! It looks badass! Keeps up the good work Adelle!

  24. I felt the character development & story were fitting & effective. They may not be as deep as a role from a Spielberg movie, for instance, but they served their purpose, which is everything I would expect from a high caliber master class of a film.

  25. The movie was great ,  the absolute control over the cinematographic language by its director ( soundtrack , characters , complex drive action sequences) , also the landscape , as a character itself so well shown ( shoot on Namibia ) Mel Gibson did well in supporting this new film , also i consider Mel Gibson  the best in playing the role of Max Rockantansky.

  26. I just got back from watching Mad Max at the theater.
Before i went to see Fury Road i've saw the first 2 movies and i skipped the third one.
The first one was okay the second one was better and more entertaining than the first one.
    Mad Max Fury Road
    Positives:action,story,Furiosa,great villain and soundtrack.
    Negatives:Short experience.
Conclusion:Mad Max Fury Road is a very fun exhilarating thrilling popcorn action movie.

  27. Really enjoyed this not being big on action films. Was a real spectacle and was pure exhilaration. I think critics and fans are going overboard though, with all these people calling it a masterpiece and such. It is one of the best action films we have had in years though.

  28. Awesome review and I agree with every bits of it 🙂 Road Warrior is still better to me though 🙂 if George miller can put more story in the next one that will be fantastic!..and a cameo by Mel Gibson too !!

  29. WOW!  You most certainly are a stunningly beautiful woman.  It would well be worth risking my life chasing you down in a Mad Max fury race.

  30. I'm late to the party, nonetheless my thoughts:

    *Immortan Joe

I'd say there was subtle character development. I don't want to go all Mad Max fanboy on you and explain in detail all that goes on in the film. But there are character arcs in this film. Matter of fact all three protagonists have an arc. How they got to that point is done very subtly. Also, in all the madness each character (including flaming electric guitar guy) had a role in that world. The Mad Max world is basically humanity going all tribal again.

Tom Hardy's accent was weird. But his voice is manly as fuck. So I just went with it.

Furiosa was fucking AMAZING but I'll still rate Ripley above her. Sarah Conner was my 2nd best female action badass but I think Furiosa might just edge her out now.

    I'd give Fury Road an 8.5/10. And I'll give your smile a 9/10. I'm a harsh judge.

  31. I think the movie should've been called Mad Furiosa. She is bad ass !! Tom Hardy did not fit the character and deeply lacked the "oomph"  However the cinematography was brilliant. I think it is the best action movie of the year 🙂

  32. I agree with you on tom Hardy's accent. I would love it if he used his bane voice instead. Especially when he was wearing that muzzle thing. It would have been hilarious

  33. IF YOU HAVE TIME TO READ THIS,PLEASE DO.Here's my opinion about Mad Max:Fury Road.It is a great and fun action film, wonderfully directed by George Miller .The acting is also quite impressive by both leading as well as supporting cast members. It has been a long time since we've seen an action film that uses practical effects  and breathtaking stunts instead of using computers and CGI to achieve what this movie did naturally.I had a blast watching this flick,BUT…..is it THAT GOOD?I MEAN,PEOPLE HAVE HYPED UP THIS MOVIE SO MUCH ,GIVING IT A 98 PER CENT AT ROTTEN TOMATOES AND AN 8,7 AT IMDB.SERIOUSLY,,THE TERMINATOR 2 :JUDGEMENT DAY,ALIEN & ALIENS ALL HAVE  AN 8,5 AT IMDB AND THEY ARE CLASSICS IN THE ACTION SCI-FI GENRE.ALL OF THEM ARE SOME OF THE MOST CELEBRATED MOVIES OF ALL TIME,WITH MEMORABLE QUOTES AND UNFORGETTABLE SCENES.DO YOU MEAN TO TELL ME THAT MAD MAX FURY ROAD IS BETTER THAN THE MOVIES I MENTIONED ABOVE?I MEAN,SURE THIS MOVIE IS ABSOLUTELY ONE OF THE GREATEST ACTION FILMS OF THE   DECADE AND WILL ENTERTAIN ALMOST EVERYBODY  THAT APPRECIATES THE GENRE,BUT DON'T YOU THINK THAT ALL THIS PRAISE IS A BIT TOO MUCH?AND AGAIN I RESPECT WHAT THIS MOVIE DOES,BUT IN MY HUMBLE OPINION,I DON'T THINK THIS FILM WILL BECOME A CLASSIC .PERSONALY,I WAS STUNNED BY THE ACTION SEQUENCES AND THE STUNTS,BUT I THINK THAT BECAUSE THE EDITING AND THE STYLE OF THIS MOVIE IS SO FAST PACED   THE AVERAGE MOVIEGOER IS NOT ABLE TO FULLY APPRECIATE THEM,BECAUSE,AFTER A WHILE ,EVERYTHING HAPPENS SO FAST THAT YOU CAN'T REALLY TELL WHAT'S GOING ON AND YOU STOP CARYING ABOUT THE ACTION ITSELF ,BUT  YOU RATHER CONCENTRATE ON THE RESULTS OF EACH ACTION(YOU KNOW,WHO GOT INJURED,WHO IS STILL ALIVE OR DEAD ,etc).AFTER THE MOVIE ENDS YOU WILL REMEMBER THE EXPERIENCE ,BUT NONE OF THE SCENES WILL BE REMEMBERED OR EVEN BECOME ICONIC.WHAT YOU WILL REMEMBER THOUGH IS THAT YOU HAD A GREAT TIME.AGAIN,THIS IS JUST MY OPINION,FEEL FREE TO EXPRESS YOURS AND TELL ME WHAT YOU THINK ABOUT WHAT I'VE JUST SAID.SORRY FOR RANTING.

  34. it's not really a remake or anything like that, because there is no time line for these movies.
they are, how even the director said, lile some tales.

  35. Eh, Mel in Mad Max has always been one of his more overrated performances. He holds the screen well, but it's not groundbreaking stuff or anything. Tom Hardy was pretty fantastic though. He made the role his own while still keeping the character intact and with the same spirit. As for his accent, it's not really a specific one. It's sort of all over the place which I gather is the point. He's been alone for so long and probably hasn't talked to anyone in a long time. It's a metaphor for him trying to find his voice.
