Do you recommend seeing this or mad max?
I've been skeptical since seeing the trailers.. The original which was very very well done, was original in style. It was erie. It was suspenseful. It made you a bit uncomfortable. But the trailer to the remake, looks like it has a bunch of the modern horror tendencies of the easy scare-jump scenes, and it looked like that's what they aimed for. Is it true, or is the remake erie , in any way ?
Remakes almost always get bad ratings. It's a lose-lose situation for the director and all the creators. If they don't take any chances and just remake it as a carbon copy of the original, people will complain that it's not creative and too similar to the original. An example of that would be this movie. If the remake goes out on a limb and adds some new things not in the original and/or changes up the story/characters in any way everybody complains that it's too different from the original. An example of that would be Rob Zombie's 2007 Halloween reboot. People were literally PISSED how much Zombie changed Michael's character/appearance/persona. But when you leave the remake the exact same as the original you get a boring piece of ** like Poltergeist that wasn't even worth remaking. I myself would much rather see a remake be told differently than the original. Which is why I personally like remakes like Halloween and Evil Dead. Hell I even enjoyed the remake of Friday the 13th because you actually got to see Jason's living quarters and how he survived.
Great thumbnail Wetmovie1
The Hills have eyes remake was actually good…
Always love your review Brendan, Drew seems like a cool dude.

I thought the hills have eyes was an excellent remake……the one that Alexandra Aja did…..Texas sucked nasty balls

So… You went to the movies with John Mayer?
I'm not expecting to like this one as much as you guys seemed to.. The original is to me a movie that shouldn't have been redone, it's a classic. Enough of these damn remakes.
