AOM hosts Phil Svitek & Demetri Panos discuss Poltergeist.

Poltergeist is a 2015 American 3D horror film directed by Gil Kenan, written by David Lindsay-Abaire and produced by Sam Raimi. A reboot and remake of producer Steven Spielberg’s and director Tobe Hooper’s 1982 film of the same name, the film stars Sam Rockwell, Rosemarie DeWitt, Jared Harris, and Jane Adams. The film was released on May 22, 2015, by 20th Century Fox. It received mixed reviews from critics, and has grossed over $26 million.

All seems well for Eric Bowen (Sam Rockwell), wife Amy (Rosemarie DeWitt) and their three children as they move into their new house in the suburbs of Illinois. Soon, youngest daughter Maddy (Kennedi Clements) begins talking to an imaginary friend, or so the family thinks. It’s not long before sinister spirits wreak havoc in the home, holding Maddy captive and forcing the parents to consult a team of parapsychologists who engage the supernatural entities in a battle for the girl’s freedom.

  1. To be honest the host of this show, seems to really need to see more films in order to work as the host. His knowledge is limited to very little to only the newer films. Can't even say what his scariest horror film is, it seems he needs a lot more experience to be hosting a show

  2. The bastards had to use the line 'a storms coming' used in every terrible film 😀

  3. How TF is the guy on the left reviewing a remake without having seen the original? 😒 About the "women don't like horror". I'm a woman and I'm quite sure I've watched movies that would make him đŸ’© his pants. He doesn't sound like he's seen enough movies. They need to replace him, so the guy on the right has someone on his level to engage with. Also the line in the original was "You moved the headstones, but you didn't move the bodies did ya? You didn't move the bodies! Why! Why!"

  4. Guy on the left says, everything you see in this movie had been done before. Yeah, because you probably grew up watching the crapload of movies that copied the 1982 Poltergeist.

  5. Insidious is more of a Austral projection movie disguised as a haunted house film.

  6. I'm sorry Demetri, the name of the two sisters were Dominique Dunne, who was murdered by her boyfriend, daughter of author Dominick Dunne who dedicated his life thereafter to the make people aware and prevent violent crimes against young women. Not Nelson De Mille's daughter and Heather O' Rourke who went on to do Happy Days after she tragically died young of an illness shortly after the filming of the second Poltergeist sequel I'm pretty sure! Not sure about the elderly actor! I kind of hate that the tragic death's of these young women were practically forgotten!
