Singularity PC Game Review

Singularity is a video game developed by Raven Software and published by Activision and released for Microsoft Windows, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Singularity is Raven Software’s third title based on Epic Games’ Unreal Engine 3. The title was announced at Activision’s E3 2008 press conference.

Singularity is a first-person shooter with survival-horror elements. A main gameplay device is an artifact known as the Time Manipulation Device (TMD). The TMD is powered by an E-99 core, and can manipulate time. The TMD can move an object backwards or forwards in time, attract something and hold it indefinitely, or send a pulse of energy that can stun or kill enemies. The TMD can only affect living beings or objects that have been in contact with E-99 (supposedly, almost everything on Katorga-12 is imbued with the element, but in practice, the TMD can only affect a limited set of objects). Some living beings, like the Spetsnaz troops who are covered in heavy armor designed to repel E-99, are immune as well.

The TMD can be used in conjunction with special power stations scattered across the island that greatly amplify its power, allowing it to affect objects much larger than it can normally control such as collapsed bridges or shipwrecks.

  1. This game is simply awesome. Played through numerous times and it's a testament to Activision's idiocy that Raven is now relegated to making CoD maps and other mindless crap.

  2. Really fun action shooter with some great mechanics. The story, writing, presentation and characters is pretty sub par tho. I mean just compare some of those elements with how they are treated in a game like Bioshock which Singularity desperately wants to be you can see the lost potential. I mean not a single one of the audio logs or notes managed to grab any of my attention.

  3. I come from 2017, and I loved this game. Although the beginning when you walk through the school creeped me out a bit. I was actually just playing yesterday too.

  4. this channel is what made me fall in love with FPS games again keep the good reviews coming

  5. 2017-07-17: I've never heard of this game before, but I bought it on the "GOG sale" and this game still holds up until today!

I played through the whole game in one sitting, I rarely do that..

Good gameplay and nice kick from the guns + decent sound all over, very good voice acting, great variation of freaky monsters!

<3 the bullet holes after you hit enemies or you might dismember them, and you can execute soldiers that are trying to crawl away

I love the time traveling between soviet era & the post-apocalyptic world!

    Lots to upgrade, weapons/armor/implants etc

The game feels like a mixture of: Metro>S.T.A.L.K.E.R>Wolfenstein>and a little Portal/Half-Life

Just download the free program (Flawless Widescreen) and change fov to 80-90, also play on Hard difficulty!

We NEED Singularity 2 and more commie killing!

  6. I had the opportunity to play this game recently and it was one of the most solid and fun single player FPS campaign I've played in quite a while. Indeed it is a rather short experience but what is there is an absolute blast. BTW, I don't know if it is because of modern hardware but I did not encounter a single issue with the textures, everything looked super crisp and not a single texture looked out of place. (Only modification I did to it was to fix the game's default FOV which is quite low)

I really cannot believe how critically panned this game was back when it released, some critics calling it "mediocre", Honestly some good games slip through the cracks because of "professional" critics that wouldn't be able to recognize fun if it bit them in the nads.

  7. HAHA russians always take over the world, man, I would love to see some American fascist jerks taking all over the world… Like in real life hahahha
